Attack report:

Large black German shepherd dog escaped from owner and her father and ran up and attacked my dog that was being walked on a lead by my brother. My dog a staffy x Kelpie was attacked from behind which was completely unprovoked. Dog wasn’t letting go while my brother and I tried to kick and punch the dog off my dog. My brother went behind the attacking dog and picked up its hind legs and shook the dog up and down which finally let go of my dog. I ran away with my dog on the lead and hid behind a bush. My brother was still holding the dog by it’s legs while the dog owner and father grabbed the lead that was left behind when the dog escaped to run at my dog. Prior to the incident the dog was showing very aggressive signs as we were walking past it. Distance was approx 25 metres away as we walked passed. The dog owner was attempting to put the dog in her car (I believe) while the dog escaped from her. All up the attack lasted 3 minutes. The attacking dog bit on her dog owners fathers hand and he sustained really bad hand injuries during the attack which resulted in him being taken to the flinders hospital. My dog was taken straight to the Morphett Vale Vet and required to be put under anaesthetic and required two lots of stitches. Bill $941.00.
