Attack report:

This park has dogs off lead every day. My dog and I are continually harassed by the dogs, some showing aggressive behaviour and not under effective control. Owners do not care for anyone but themselves. Yesterday the inevitable happened and my dog was attacked. There was a group of four people (breaking the Covid-19, 2 person rule). They had two dogs off lead running around the entire park, I don't know the beeds, one was a tan sausage dog the other a medium sized tan dog, short haired coat, thin tail, skinny (not a greyhound). This dog saw my dog and ran from one side of the park to the other, bared its teeth, growling and then jumped my dog. The owner was calling it but it wasn't listening. I had to yell at it and pull it off at which time the owner arrived. No apology. Fortunately, I got it off my dog before he was hurt and my dog (a labrador) is slightly larger than the attacking dog so more difficult for the aggressive dog to get to. I took my dog out of the park and around the block for a walk and when we got back the dog that attacked and its mate were still off lead! My dog is 12 years old (senior), friendly and tolerant but we are both sick to death of being harassed at this public park. There are plenty of off-lead parks in the council area but people seem to use every park as off-lead parks. Council never have rangers there and haven't even bothered to put up signs to state it's an on-lead park. I'm tired of feeling unsafe and anxious every time I take my dog out.
